Prospect Profile
Logan O’Hoppe, a young catcher with big upside, is this week’s Prospect Profile from the Phillies minor league system.
How Obtained
2018 23rd round draft selection — Saint John the Baptist High School , West Islip, NY. Turned 22 years old on 2/9. B-T: R-R.
This Fan’s View
Had an outstanding 2021 season playing at three levels (A — Jersey Shore, AA — Reading and AAA-Lehigh Valley ) with the majority of the summer at Jersey Shore — 17 home runs, 58 RBIs, 19 doubles and an overall batting average of .270 in 393 AB’s. Great leadership skills, strong arm and mechanics — excelled in the Arizona Fall League — sure looks to be on the path to the big leagues.
2022 Projection
Likely breaks spring camp as the starting receiver for Reading with an eye on an in-season promotion to LHV.
