Baron’s Corner
Last Phillies player to lead National League in hits? You may be surprised. Another surprise, only two of the nine weren’t outfielders.

Club Record
O’Doul’s 254 hits in 1929 hasn’t been touched and most likely will never in Phillies history. A left-handed hitting left fielder, he collected 144 hits in 76 games at Baker Bowl and 110 in 78 road games. 57 hits came in his final 30 games (28 September, 2 October), an unearthly .438 average. His .398 season average will never be matched.
