By Steve Potter

24-years-old . . . Drafted in 31st Round out of the University of South Alabama (2018) . . . 5-foot-10, 175 pounds . . . In two pro seasons, he’s pitched for Williamsport, Lakewood, Clearwater, Reading.

Tyler lives in the Avon Park area in the middle southern part of Florida … had an excellent 2019 season playing at three levels ( Lakewood, Clearwater and Reading ) — 5–4 overall with a 1.29 ERA in 54 games (99.2 IP) with 76 K’s and 26 BB … recorded 6 saves in 7 opportunities.

Over his two years of professional play he’s 8–6 with a 1.54 ERA in 54 games (2 starts) and has amassed 99.2 IP with 100 K’s and 30 BB. He’s gone more than one inning in 33 of his appearances, more than two innings in 15 of those. Tyler has pitched in multiple games within the same week 14 times in his career and pitched in three games within a week’s period six times in 2019.

He can flash a 95–96 mph heater but generally sits in the 93–94 range … has a good secondary mix which allows him to be a multi- inning reliever … Tyler is an out producer who’s capable of pitching consecutive days in relief. He throws strikes and has a fighter’s mentality on the hill … bulldog, he’s my height at 5’10” … while other fellas may be taller this young man is just as long in ability. Glad to see him get a chance to shine this spring.

Happy Day, Happy Baseball ⚾️
